Different emphasis from the BBC and AJE this morning, but both still focusing on the ALs worry about civil war. Still no report of anyone asking for Libya style invasion that I've seen. Genuinely terrifying.

Having recently moved to Germany I've been thinking more about instances of fascism and victimisation in contemporary societies. In particular that despite the fall of many fascist states and the obvious immorality of such things that there is still oppression and victimisation everywhere we look. So, I'm starting this to create a catalogue of injustice. Not a comprehensive list, nor a particularly novel list. Just a list of what is happening.

"US Marines identify 'urination' troops"
We see here a clear case of dehumanizing enemy combatants. There is no particular need for me to say what's wrong with this, but what I will point out is that this kind of behaviour is encouraged by the fact that to kill someone they need to be treated as out-group members (others). After the fact condemnation of such acts is meaningless when these acts are encouraged by how those in the military are required to think to do their jobs. Demilitarization is needed to prevent such acts.
Also worth noting that NPR is NOT reporting this when everyone else is
